Parents and guardians
Where the law needs a parent’s approval before a teen can use BranchBeat’s social features, the teen asks for it from the app and we email you a link. You approve in the BranchBeat app, from your own BranchBeat account, on your own phone.
Approving your teen’s account
- Open the email from BranchBeat on your own phone, not your teen’s, and tap the link. If BranchBeat is not installed, install it from the App Store or Google Play, then come back to the email and tap the link again.
- Sign in to your BranchBeat account, or create one. You need to be an adult, with a confirmed email address.
- Confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian, and choose a daily time limit, quiet hours and whether direct messages are on. In Georgia, the law also asks you to sign a consent form in the app; we email you a copy.
The link works for 7 days, and your teen can send a new one from the app at any time: on the Tools screen, find Ask a parent, enter your email and tap Send.
Managing an account you approved
In the BranchBeat app, go to Settings, then My teens. There you can see your teen’s privacy settings, change the limits you set, or withdraw your approval. Your teen can also remove you as their parent from the app. Either way, if the law still requires a parent’s approval for the account, it then returns to the practice tools only.
Keep the link to yourself
The link in the email belongs to your teen’s request, and the first adult account that opens it in the app is the one asked to approve, so please do not forward it. This website stores nothing in your browser.
