Removing intimate images shared without consent

Last updated: 20 October 2026

If an intimate image or video of you was shared on BranchBeat without your consent, including a realistic fake made with AI or editing software, you can ask us to remove it. We remove it within 48 hours of receiving a valid request, and we look for and remove known identical copies of it on BranchBeat. This page explains how to ask, as the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act requires.

Who can ask

The person shown in the image, or someone authorised to act for them, such as a parent or guardian of a minor, or a lawyer.

How to ask

Email support@branchbeat.com with “TAKE IT DOWN removal request” in the subject. You do not need a BranchBeat account. Your request needs four things, in writing:

  1. Your signature. A physical or electronic signature of the person shown, or of the person acting for them. Typing your full name at the end of the email is enough.
  2. Where the image is. Enough for us to find it: a link, the username of the account, and where it appears (a profile picture, a post, a caption, a comment, a bio or a direct message).
  3. A good-faith statement. A short statement that you believe in good faith that the image was shared without the consent of the person shown, with anything that helps us see that.
  4. How to contact you. An email address, and a phone number if you like. If you are acting for someone else, say who you are and how you are authorised.

Start a request by email opens a message with these four parts ready to fill in. Please do not attach the image itself: tell us where it is.

What happens next

  • We reply to confirm we have your request.
  • As soon as possible, and no later than 48 hours after we receive a valid request, we remove the image.
  • We make reasonable efforts to find and remove any known identical copies on BranchBeat, such as the same image posted by another account.
  • If we cannot find what you described, we tell you and ask for more detail. We remove what we can find in the meantime.
  • Sharing someone’s intimate image without consent breaks our Terms of Service, and we may suspend or close the account that shared it.
  • We keep a record of your request and of what we did.

Where images appear on BranchBeat

Posts on BranchBeat are recordings and sheet music, so the pictures people upload are profile pictures. An image can also be linked from a caption, a comment, a bio or a direct message. Telling us which of these it is, and the username, is the quickest way for us to find it.

If the person shown is under 18

Also report it in the app, choosing “Child safety concern”: our team is alerted at once, and we preserve it and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as US law requires. Our Child Safety Standards explain how.

You can report directly to the CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678. NCMEC’s Take It Down service, at takeitdown.ncmec.org, can also help remove intimate images of people under 18 from participating online services.

Reporting in the app

You can also report the profile, post, comment or message in the app and choose “Sexual content”. A report reaches the same team. To make a removal request under the TAKE IT DOWN Act, email us with the four parts above as well, so that we have your signature and a way to reach you.

If your content was removed

If we removed something you posted and you believe it was not an intimate image shared without consent, reply to our message and ask us to look again; a person will, as our Terms of Service describe.

Getting support

Having an intimate image shared is not your fault. If you are struggling, the Safety center lists helplines, including 988 in the US, which you can call or text at any time.
